Task 4 Rationalizing & Calculation

You get the opportunity to visit many places in Malacca. You come across many attractive souvenirs and wish to buy them. But you must remember to spend wisely. Here’s a guide on which you can fill in to help you decide.
Currency Rate at which you changed your money at :
S$100 = RM$ 238

Place: Item: For: Price RM$: Price S$: Worth it?

Place:kampong indah
Item:spinning top
For:myself
Price RM$:RM12
Price S$:$10+
Worth it?:yes
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Place: beside christ church malacca
Item:building model of kl twin tower
For:my family
Price RM$:RM8
Price S$: -
Worth it?:yes
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Place:beside christ church malacca
Item: souvenier keychains
For: myself
Price RM$:RM7 for 6
Price SGD:$1 for 1

Task 3 Observing & Analysing

Before your trip, observe different money changers. They tend to have the same currency rate. Observe if there are money changers offering different currency rates.
Money Changer A is offering S$100 = RM$235 while B is offering S$100 = RM$235.50. Explain why you think this is so (Stretch your minds even if you can’t find any money changers)
I think

Money changer B wanted more customers by atracting them with a slightly higher price which he can give them but earning a little less on one customer.If the customers continue to come, he would eventually earn more.

Task 2 Rationalizing, Calculation & Brainstorming

You may not have been to Malacca but just like any other trips, it is important to know what you can expect there. Surf the Internet to find foods or crackers found mainly in Malacca and brainstorm on what you would like to buy.
This ensures that you have money put aside for these things.

Items: Deciding Factors : Approx. value of items in SGD: Amt. to be put aside RM$/Size of item:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Building model of twin towers- Not found in Singapore - $3.90 for 1 (converted) - Rm 8 for 1
